Lost Trail Station was an 1877 stage stop! The guest cabin is a more modern vintage from 1930s, but remodeled in 2018. Guests have access to the 100-acre property, 1/2 mile stretch of private fishing on the Rio Grande!

Hiking Near Creede:

• Big Meadows Reservoir Trail: A 2.8-mile loop that's considered easy, making it suitable for various fitness levels. It's open year-round for hiking and horseback riding in the summer, and for cross-country skiing in the winter. 

Here are some other popular trails in the Creede area:

• San Luis Summit: A challenging 11-mile hike that's a good option for those looking to summit their first 14er (a mountain over 14,000 feet). The trail has a steady incline but no particularly technical sections. 

• San Luis Peak via Stewart Creek Trail: This 13.1-mile hike climbs to San Luis Peak, offering stunning views of southern Colorado. It starts at the Stewart Creek Trailhead. 

• Inspiration Point Loop: A moderately challenging 7.6-mile loop that's popular for hiking, mountain biking, and running.

• North Clear Creek Falls Loop: A short, easy 0.3-mile loop that provides access to the scenic North Clear Creek Falls.
