Hiking Near Bisbee:
Fissure Peak Trail: For a more strenuous adventure, this social trail leads to the highest point in the Mule Mountains. The hike is steep and can be a bit challenging to follow in sections, but it offers great views of Bisbee and the surrounding terrain.
Here are some other popular trails in the Bisbee area:
Bisbee's Cross Shrine Hike: A moderate 3-mile roundtrip hike starting from downtown Bisbee that leads to a shrine with panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. It offers a good workout and a unique cultural landmark at the destination.
The "High" Trail (Ridge Trail) with B Active Bisbee: A more challenging 2.5-hour guided hike offered by a local tour operator. This trail in the Mule Mountains provides extraordinary canyon views and a significant elevation gain, offering a rigorous experience with rewarding vistas of Bisbee from above.
Cochise Stronghold Trails (Dragoon Mountains): While a bit of a drive from Bisbee, the Cochise Stronghold area in the Dragoon Mountains offers a network of stunning trails with unique rock formations and historical significance. The Cochise Trail #279 is a popular option that traverses the Stronghold.
Coronado National Memorial: Located south of Bisbee, this area also has several hiking trails with varying difficulty levels, offering views of the US-Mexico border and the surrounding mountain ranges. The Joe's Canyon Trail and the Crest Trail are a couple of options.
