  • Saint Mary's Glacier: This is a very popular, relatively short (1.5 miles roundtrip) hike to a glacier and lake with year-round snow. It's considered moderately challenging and offers stunning panoramic views. 

Here are some other popular trails in the Idaho Springs area:

  • Chief Mountain Trail: A popular hike known for its beautiful scenery. 

  • Mount Blue Sky National Recreation Trail: This is a short but steep climb to the summit of Mount Blue Sky (formerly Mount Evans), starting from the end of Mount Blue Sky Road. 

  • Chicago Lakes Trail: This trail starts at Echo Lake and climbs steeply to the Idaho Springs Reservoir, offering more challenging hiking. 

  • Echo Lake Trail: A more leisurely walk around the south side of Echo Lake, providing access to the Chicago Lakes Trail for those seeking a longer hike.
